Adobe brings Premiere tools to YouTube Shorts for mobile creators

Wed, 29th Oct 2025

Adobe and YouTube have announced a partnership to integrate Adobe Premiere's mobile video editing technology with YouTube Shorts, aiming to provide creators with new tools to produce and share short-form video content.

The agreement will introduce a dedicated content creation space, called 'Create for YouTube Shorts', within the Premiere mobile app. This new feature is designed to streamline video production for the millions of users active on YouTube Shorts, enabling creators to make and publish content directly to the platform from the app.

By leveraging this integration, creators will have access to Adobe's suite of professional video editing functionalities previously reserved for desktop users. These include exclusive effects, transitions, title presets, ready-to-use templates, studio-quality audio via generative sound effects, as well as assets generated through Firefly AI.

"We're excited to partner with YouTube to give creators the power to produce, share, and grow on the world's biggest stage, YouTube," said Ely Greenfield, CTOand SVP, Digital Media, Adobe.

"This partnership with Adobe to integrate YouTube Shorts into Premiere mobile will give creators even more choice and access to more editing features to produce content the way they want, unlocking new ways for them to connect with their viewers and reach new audiences globally," said Scott Silver, VP of Engineering, YouTube.

Expanded capabilities

The Create for YouTube Shorts content creation space will allow users to access exclusive effects, transitions, and title presets. Adobe says these are aimed at helping creators make their videos distinctive and engaging. The space also offers customisable and ready-to-use templates with professional transitions and effects. Finished videos can be shared to YouTube Shorts with a single tap.

In addition, creators will be able to customise templates and share them, fostering the creation of new YouTube Shorts trends. The editing features are intended to provide flexibility for different video styles, from daily vlogs to behind-the-scenes or travel content.

Direct access from YouTube Shorts

The integration will enable creators to launch Premiere mobile's editing suite directly from YouTube Shorts by tapping the "+Edit in Adobe Premiere" icon. This workflow is intended to lower the barrier for creators who want to enhance their videos with professional-grade tools but may not have access to desktop applications.

"YouTube Shorts has become the ultimate launchpad for creators, and bringing Adobe Premiere mobile's pro-grade video editing tools to millions of YouTube creators helps them make standout content and reach new audiences," said Greenfield.

A broader push on mobile content creation

Premiere mobile, launched in September, is Adobe's attempt to deliver mobile-first video editing technologies to a broader generation of creators. The company has emphasised the importance of providing high-quality creative tools that are both accessible and suited for current digital consumption trends, such as vertical short-form video.

With this partnership, Adobe and YouTube are targeting the growing creator economy, in which accessibility to sophisticated production tools on mobile devices is increasingly crucial. Both companies have referenced the importance of enabling users to tell their stories with professional results, regardless of their location or equipment.

The new features and integration, according to Adobe and YouTube, are part of a shared effort to make content creation and audience engagement more accessible and effective for the global creator community. The Create for YouTube Shorts feature in Premiere mobile is expected to become available soon.
