Apple Creator Studio gets AI editing & Pixelmator links

Apple has updated Apple Creator Studio with new editing, image and music production features, adding tighter links between Pixelmator Pro and several Apple apps.
The update focuses on Final Cut Pro, Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Logic Pro, with additional changes to Motion, Compressor, Final Cut Camera and Freeform. It extends image editing across Apple's productivity and media apps while adding more AI-based tools for video and audio work.
Video tools
Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad gains Generate Captions and Edit Detection, two tools designed to reduce manual editing work. Generate Captions automatically transcribes audio and places subtitles in the timeline, while Edit Detection analyses rendered video and splits it back into original clips on the timeline.
On Mac, Final Cut Pro also adds Auto Mask, an updated Match Colour tool and Advanced Trimming. Auto Mask identifies elements including skin, hair, sky, foliage and clothing, and can be combined with colour correction or effects. Match Colour has been rebuilt to improve consistency across footage shot in different lighting conditions, while Advanced Trimming gives editors frame-by-frame control over incoming and outgoing edits.
Final Cut Pro project templates are also changing. Creator Themes now support multiple aspect ratios, dynamic titles and customisable backgrounds, reflecting the wider range of formats used for online video and social media clips.
Apple has also expanded links between Final Cut Pro and Pixelmator Pro. Editors can now send a selected frame from Final Cut Pro directly into Pixelmator Pro, make graphic changes such as thumbnails or social assets, and place the edited file back into the timeline.
Motion and Compressor also receive updates. Motion now supports vector graphics natively at any resolution and adds Distribute Layers. Compressor adds an Immersive Metadata Viewer, support for the 180-degree Apple Projected Media Profile for Apple Vision Pro and an Anaglyph View for stereoscopic video preview.
Final Cut Camera, Apple's free capture app for iPhone and iPad, now supports Clean HDMI Out for external monitors and recorders. It also adds broader ProRes options, including ProRes LT, and a setting to disable digital zoom so footage stays at full optical resolution.
Pixelmator links
Apple is extending Pixelmator Pro further into its office and presentation apps. Users of Keynote, Pages and Numbers can now open any image in a document directly in Pixelmator Pro, edit it there and save the changes back into the original file.
The integration gives Apple's document tools a more direct route to image editing without forcing users to export files or switch formats. It also brings creative and office workflows closer together inside Apple's software ecosystem.
Pixelmator Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers are also gaining a tool to generate vector shapes for projects. Those shapes can be refined and stored in a dedicated collection for later use.
Advanced image generation and the Content Hub are also expanding to Pixelmator Pro. The image generation tool lets users create and edit images with natural language prompts, while Content Hub provides access to a library of photos, graphics, shapes and illustrations.
Other changes in the productivity suite include new transitions and builds in Keynote, Auto-Hyphenate and Show Invisibles in Pages for iPhone and iPad, and the ability in Numbers to hide or colour-code individual sheets in large spreadsheets.
Freeform is also set to gain shape generation and the ability to open an image in Pixelmator Pro, alongside Dark Mode, folders for board organisation and support for drawing on Mac.
Music updates
Logic Pro for Mac and iPad receives a rebuilt Chord ID system aimed at improving harmonic analysis. The updated feature can recognise extended chords and inversions, including in recordings with distorted guitar or slightly out-of-tune piano.
The music software also adds a new Producer Project based on "Shoulda Never," produced by Khris Riddick-Tynes. The project includes the full Logic Pro session, preserving multitrack recordings, MIDI performances and vocal takes as they were originally assembled.
For Logic Pro and MainStage, Apple has introduced a new granular sync mode in Alchemy, its sample-based synthesiser. It is also adding a Granular Alchemy Sound Pack with loops and presets designed for that mode.
Beat Breaker is also being expanded across Mac and iPad. The update adds new filter and pan modes, along with randomisation controls intended to help users create fills and rhythmic variations more quickly.
The latest release broadens Apple's effort to link creative, office and media production software more closely across Mac, iPad and iPhone. It also places more editing and generation tools directly inside Apple's own apps rather than relying on separate workflows.
