Elite has appointed Jake Simpson as Chief Sales Officer, adding a senior executive as the legal technology provider expands its leadership team.

Simpson will lead Elite's global sales organisation, overseeing sales strategy and execution across the business. He will also work with the wider leadership team on go-to-market operations and pipeline management as Elite targets further growth in software for law firm financial operations.

He brings experience from software and technology sales leadership roles across several sectors. Most recently, Simpson was Chief Revenue Officer at Tackle.io, a cloud marketplace sales platform for business software providers, where he helped guide the company through a period of growth.

Earlier, he held Chief Revenue Officer roles at Catalant, iboss and Onapsis, and served in senior leadership positions at PTC. That background in recurring revenue businesses and global commercial teams aligns with Elite's focus as law firms seek more connected systems for billing, finance and operational data.

Elite sells software used by law firms to manage financial and administrative processes. Its products cover financial management, invoicing, time recording and data management, placing it in a part of the legal technology market where firms are reviewing older systems and moving more functions to cloud-based software.

Leadership change

Simpson joins at a time when legal software providers are competing for firms looking to modernise back-office operations. In this market, sales leadership is closely tied to convincing firms to replace long-standing systems that are often deeply embedded in day-to-day practice management and finance work.

Elite has positioned itself around financial operations for law firms, covering the process from recording work through to billing and cash collection. The hire reflects continued investment in leadership as demand grows for more modern technology in those workflows.

"Elite has built strong momentum helping law firms modernize financial operations, and I see tremendous opportunity for continued growth as firms rethink how technology drives business performance," said Jake Simpson, Chief Sales Officer, Elite.

"Great sales organizations are built on trust, accountability, and customer focus, and I look forward to partnering with the team to build on our execution and help more firms realize greater value from the systems that power the work-to-cash lifecycle," Simpson added.

His appointment also gives Elite another senior executive with direct experience scaling software revenue teams. That is likely to matter in a market where law firms typically make large, complex buying decisions, often involving long sales cycles and detailed implementation planning.

Market focus

Legal technology suppliers have increasingly focused on finance, billing and related operational systems as firms seek tighter control over cash flow, billing cycles and profitability. Software providers in the sector have also worked to connect finance tools more closely with reporting and analytics as law firms pay greater attention to the business side of legal practice.

Founded in 1947, Elite says its software is used by many of the world's largest law firms. The group has been part of a broader shift in legal technology toward software delivered through cloud-based subscription models rather than older on-premise systems.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Dorman linked the hire to the company's next stage of expansion.

"Jake Simpson brings the kind of leadership and commercial rigor needed for the next phase of Elite's growth," said Mark Dorman, Chief Executive Officer, Elite.

"His appointment reflects both the strength of the business we have built and our commitment to investing in the leadership and operational excellence needed to scale effectively, support our customers, and sustain momentum in the market," Dorman added.

For Elite, the hire underlines the importance of commercial execution as legal technology vendors try to convert demand for newer finance systems into long-term contracts. Simpson's task will be to turn that demand into sales growth in a market where large law firms remain cautious buyers but continue to invest in tools that can improve billing and financial management.
