Proto appoints Todd Bouman as CEO amid rapid expansion

Todd Bouman has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Proto Inc, a company renowned for its contributions to the field of hologram and spatial computing technologies.

The appointment of Bouman occurred as Founder David Nussbaum transitions to the role of Chair. Nussbaum's decision to step into a new position while still maintaining his role in crafting the firm's strategic direction reflects his intent to push the frontiers of hologram communications and spatial computing.

Bouman brings with him extensive experience in the electronics sector, notably from his previous role as President, CEO, and Chair of Sharp/NEC Display Solutions, Americas.

His leadership there was pivotal in integrating the business as a strong entity in the global electronics and software display sector, achieving significant financial gains. "Proto is poised as an industry leader to revolutionise the way we interact with digital content," Bouman commented.

"I am thrilled to lead this extraordinarily innovative company as it scales its transformative technology to new heights."

His career also includes prior roles at Samsung and HP, where he drove product growth initiatives and brand expansion.

At Samsung, Bouman was part of pushing major growth within the consumer and commercial sectors, while at HP, he contributed significantly to the development of the ultralight notebook product line.

"As the founder, Proto is like a child to me," Nussbaum stated. "Entrusting it to someone else wasn't a decision I took lightly. I needed absolute confidence that the new leader had the experience and proven ability to take my vision for Proto to the next level. Todd Bouman is that person."

The company is currently undergoing rapid expansion, having launched new full-sized hologram devices, the Proto Luma, and the desktop-sized M2.

They have noted increasing use of their AI capabilities across a range of industries, including healthcare and sports.

Proto Inc. is in the process of preparing for its Series B fundraising round in the second quarter, aimed at accelerating development and market penetration efforts. This step is part of the organisation's strategic plan to enhance its technology offerings.

The company has distinguished itself with recent initiatives, such as holographic doctor-patient consultations and the launch of a hologram advertising network in major malls. It has also participated in leading technology and retail conferences, showcasing innovations such as AI-driven hologram interactions.
