Xsolla & KRAFTON launch Abyss of Dungeons direct Web Shop

Xsolla has partnered with KRAFTON to launch a dedicated Web Shop for Abyss of Dungeons, a dark fantasy extraction role-playing game developed by Bluehole Studio.

Abyss of Dungeons is set in a medieval, treacherous underworld and provides players with a blend of survival elements, dungeon-crawling combat, and strategic progression. The game is already available in select markets, including the United States, Canada, Indonesia, Thailand, Brazil, and Mexico, and has grown a dedicated player community interested in its mixture of player-versus-player (PvP) and player-versus-environment (PvE) gameplay, as well as its class-based combat system and high-stakes risk-reward mechanics.

Through the collaboration, Xsolla has developed a custom-built Web Shop for KRAFTON, allowing players to purchase exclusive in-game items and currency directly, outside of the traditional app store ecosystem. This move aligns with KRAFTON's direct-to-player growth strategy and supports its aim to enable deeper engagement with its community.

Game features

Abyss of Dungeons offers several features designed to appeal to a broad audience of RPG and dungeon-crawling fans. The game includes a medieval fantasy environment, where players navigate mazes filled with dangerous monsters and rival adventurers while attempting to escape the encroaching Dark Swarm.

The combat system supports both PvP and PvE, with players facing off against each other and computer-controlled enemies for valuable treasure, with the ongoing threat that they could, at any moment, switch from being the hunter to the hunted.

The game introduces a diverse class system, offering six unique character classes: Fighter, Barbarian, Rogue, Ranger, Cleric, and Wizard. Each class provides different skills and tactical roles, allowing for a range of strategic approaches to combat and collaboration.

Players can also form parties to confront the challenges of the dungeons together. As players progress, escaping dungeons enables them to level up their characters, unlock new weaponry, and work towards becoming recognised figures within the game world.

Xsolla's Web Shop solution

To reinforce KRAFTON's objective of growing its player community and improving marketing efficiency, Xsolla worked with Bluehole Studio to implement and launch the Abyss of Dungeons Web Shop in several territories.

According to Xsolla, these capabilities led to a swift rollout and immediate availability to players in key global regions.

Specific highlights from the partnership between Xsolla and KRAFTON include a reduced time-to-market enabled by the use of Xsolla's prebuilt Web Shop template and support; the availability of unique digitally delivered bundles to encourage direct purchase; access to more than 1,000 payment methods through Xsolla's infrastructure; and the ability to link with the Xsolla Partner Network (XPN) to incorporate influencers and expand reach in local markets.

The Web Shop for Abyss of Dungeons was launched in select markets, offering KRAFTON exclusive content options and an integrated promotional strategy that leverages influencer engagement. The collaboration aims to help KRAFTON maintain closer relationships with its player base and expand its direct digital sales presence outside traditional app stores.
